You guys are definitely in the majority, based upon the secondary market!

For me, a key design feature of the ZW is the crisp, clean, precise way that the ZW shows me the time. I like that the ZW shows me only what's happening on home base, and screens out what's happening in the dugout, in the bullpen, and elsewhere on the fie

In some ways I agree and in others I disagree

I mostly buy preowned and inflation adjusted, MOST watches are cheaper now than ever. IE the JLC Duometre has been around 20k USD used for the last 5 years. Once you factor inflation in, it’s cheaper than ever. Conversely, MSRP is bonkers for most brands

It looks way too big on me but wears quite comfortably on my small wrist (6"/154mm).

My hearing is lousy, and both metals do chime softly. The PT version (which I own) sounded softer than the gold version (which I don't own) when I compared them many years ago, soon after they were introduced. That said, the Striking Time embodies an imme

I have to say I’ve never thought of Lange as being overly subject to hype.

Certainly not like Patek, Rolex, or Journe. That said, I’ve had the opportunity to handle the Striking Time on two different occasions in the past few months. It seems pretty wearable to me (7 1/4 - 7 1/2 inch wrist), and the instantaneously jumping hours

Zeitwerk Striking Time…

Now that the Lange hype has cooled, the striking time seems like an amazing deal. You get digital minutes and a cool striking time feature, plus relatively good execution for a pretty reasonable price… I used to own the OG Zeitwerk and had no problem wear

Yes, but…

…I think part of the quiet when it comes to watches is size on the wrist. Your examples I think all fit nicely, are smaller etc. But a modern Dato, ZW, Triple Split and some others in the Lange collection do not fit the quiet luxury definition as they are

I'm going to say "both".

A bold and audacious concept (as with the Double / Triple Split, the Zeitwerk...), including the ratchet-key wind. An amazing feat of German engineering - stacking two 6-foot long mainsprings and funnelling all that energy through a remontoire. But mostly

Jumping Digital Seconds

Who has done a jumping seconds watch? There's FPJ's Vegabondage Harry Winston X Vianney Halter had one too sort of where the last few seconds of the minute countdown I believe EDIT: for clarity, I mean true jumping seconds kind of like the digital minute

The Lange 1 Perpetual is such a beautiful watch...

I had the opportunity to view a selection of Lange watches at a watch event in Mumbai last month. Lange flew down for the event; though they have no plans to set up a boutique here. I managed to take a photo of the Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar, Zeitwerk, a
